With the 2024 Olympics being a key global media moment, TikTok wanted a short, high-impact video to get brands thinking early. This sizzle would live across sales decks, playbooks, TikTok Academy, and social, helping sellers spark conversations and drive Olympic media investment on the platform.
Concept &
Approach
Working closely with Creative Director Kohl Threlkeld, we set out to create a visual narrative that felt immersive—like everything you need to know about the Olympics lives right on TikTok. To get there, we added some extra spark to the existing brand guidelines, weaving in moments of cel animation, user interactions, and high-energy transitions.




Execution
We started by diving into TikTok’s Olympics brand work, then built on it with custom illustrations and iconography to make the visuals feel fresh but still unmistakably TikTok. I wanted to capture the energy of the Games while keeping everything rooted in the TikTok experience: scrolling, reacting, engaging. Big shoutout to Jake Williams for being an incredible illustration and animation partner throughout this one.
