Black National Convention

For this project with Shapes and Forms, we were asked to create an animated intro and outro for a short film on the Black Lives Matter movement, featured at the Black National Convention. I approached it with bold, gritty design choices that reflected the urgency and intensity of the fight against systemic oppression, while also celebrating the progress made, like the 78+ new laws passed across U.S. states since 2020.

The animation strikes a balance between a serious, powerful tone and vibrant visual energy, reinforcing the message that change happens when people take action. I was the sole artist on this one, handling everything from style frames to final animation and as always, the space to explore design in-depth made the process even more meaningful. I loved working on it.
